OUR MISSION STATEMENT & PURPOSE

Our mission is to encourage, strengthen, and provide direction, to mentor high risk, low-income inner-city youth between the ages of 9 yrs and 18 yrs. The program builds self-esteem, self-empowerment, and self-sufficiency, academic enrichment and social skills. Some may say that they are youth at risk, but, I see them as youth with GREAT opportunities and possibilities.
Youth are taught that they can achieve their dreams and reach their goals. Young people have great potential. Children can‘t control where they come from, but, they can take control of their future, if they are willing to listen, obey and make the right choices. YOUTH OUTREACH MINISTRIES is here to direct, guide, and teach. We mentor and strongly teach life development skills, such as health, money management, how to redirect anger and so on.
What is the Purpose and Need of the Program?

70% of children are born to single parents. The very foundation of the FAMILY has been broken down. The program strongly teaches moral values. Our purpose is to deter Inner City Youth from gangs, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and teen pregnancy. We also provide homework / tutoring assistance. Many of the youth may have come from broken homes or young parents, so we teach principles that we call HOME TRAINING. We mentor youth about the proper way and paths of life that a young person should take. We strongly encourage youth to be careful of the choices that they make in life, because every choice has a consequence, whether good or bad. Youth are taught that, they are free to choose or make their Choice. But, they are not free to choose the CONSEQUENCE; it has already been set in place.
(Examples) If you run a red light: you will get a ticket. If you don’t get an education: you’ll get a lower paying job. If you use drugs, they will affect your health; if you sell drugs: Your consequences are jail or death. Youth are taught that they are the Master of their CHOICE; but, a Slave to the CONSEQUENCE.

Youth are taught to obey and in all of their ways to Acknowledge the Higher Power. Those Consequences also have already been set in place. They are that He will direct your paths and you will have Good Success. Youth are encourage to be Very, Very, Very Careful of the Choices that they make, because, those Choices, WILL THEN MAKE THEM..
Our focus is to build character, teach responsibility, foster creativity, build integrity and enhance leadership skills in youth. The youth are taught that everyday, they have eight resources to develop, process and manage wisely in order to help them reach their goals, dreams and fulfill their potential
EIGHT RESOURCES
1. Talents: Everybody has talents and gifts to use to help them make
an honest living , Mr. C. J. Heinz planted tomatoes and other vegetables.
It is now a million dollar business.
2. Energy: What are you using your efforts to do? Don’t waste your emotional,
mental and physical emotions and strength on worthless issues or people.
3. Time: You have (24) hours every day to spend wisely, preparing yourself to go school
study and work hard, seize every minute, be around other youth, that are positive.
Please don’t waste your life on foolish choices or the wrong people.
4. Money: Don’t waste your money. Have a monthly budget. Of course this stage of their life
they should work and save to go to college. Then, when they become an adult, they
should remember that: 10% of their income should be for Tithing, 10% of income
should be saved. If they have to borrow, borrow from themselves and then pay
themselves back, and they will never be broke. Food: 10 %, Car: 10 – 15%.
Rent: 25% of income. Utilities: 20 % of income and 5% for Insurance.
5. Possessions: Respect property, clothes, your school books and Sunday school books.
Take care of what you have. Just because you didn’t buy it, that is not a
Reason to be irresponsible.

6. Action: What are you doing or engage in, please let it be all good.
7. Feeling: Emotions, Forgive & Forget past hurts, what wasn’t done or what was.
. Let it go, if you keep looking back, you won’t go forward.
8. Thoughts: Think positive, focuses on your dreams. You have a
Great life ahead of you. Obey these Life Development Skills.
OBEY WHAT THE GOOD BOOK SAID and YOUR WAY WILL BE PROSPEROUS, AND YOU WILL HAVE GOOD SUCCESS.
WE TEACH FAMILY VALUES

Youth should go and finish high school, then, go to college, even work while in school. Then after you have finished college, get a good job. Then marry, don’t just live together; MARRY. Wait two years, then start a family. Please young men and women do not start having babies, when you are NOT taking care of yourself. It is not the taxes responsibility to take care of your children but, you.
